Plein Theater en Lesbique presenteren de serie Bring Drag Back to the Theatre. Voor de vierde editie, onderdeel van de WorldPride maand, staat de uitzonderlijke dragqueen Sederginne op het programma!

Sederginne is een internationale superster, royalty van Drag Race Holland, presentatrice van haar eigen show op Netflix, winnares van Good Luck Guys en de eerste queen met een succesvolle theatertour.

Sederginne doet al drag sinds haar vijftiende, maar verwierf internationale bekendheid als deelnemer aan het eerste seizoen van Drag Race Holland in 2020. Sindsdien is de carrière van deze publieksfavoriet in een stroomversnelling geraakt. Tegenwoordig presenteert ze verschillende tv-programma’s, waaronder de Nederlandse versie van de Netflix-show I Like To Watch samen met Ma’MaQueen, en haar eigen programma Review Met Sederginne, waarin ze samen met speciale gasten alle afleveringen van Drag Race Holland seizoen 2 bespreekt. In 2023 werd ze bovendien de allereerste dragqueen met een solotheatervoorstelling in Nederlandse theaters.

Bring Drag Back to the Theatre is een bont en extravagant eerbetoon aan DRAG in al haar schitterende glorie. DRAG is niet zomaar een trend; het is een uitbundige, rebelse kunstvorm met een geschiedenis die eeuwen teruggaat. Ontstaan in het theater, in een tijd waarin vrouwen niet op het podium mochten staan en mannen vrouwelijke rollen vertolkten, speelde drag al met gender lang voordat het cool was.

Ook buiten de theatergordijnen is drag altijd toonaangevend geweest in het nachtleven en als moedige voorloper in de strijd voor LGBTQIA+ emancipatie.

Hot GLAM! Plein Theater and Lesbique are hosting a series of Drag Nights!

As the fourth edition is also part of Pride Month we present the exceptional Drag Queen Sederginne!

She's an international super star, Drag Race Holland royalty, host of her own show on Netflix, winner of 'Good Luck Guys' and the first queen with a successful theater tour.

Are you ready for one the funniest queens you will ever meet? Ready or not, here she is; Sederginne. This Belgium queen is full of humor, fun, energy, and will show you the time of your life!

Sederginne has been doing drag ever since she was 15 years old but she reached international fame being part of the cast of the first season of Drag Race Holland in 2020. Since then, the career of the fan favorite of the show took off. Now a days she hosts several TV shows like the Dutch version of the Netflix show ‘I Like To Watch’ together with Ma’MaQueen and her own show ‘Review Met Sederginne’ in which she discusses all the episodes of Drag Race Holland season 2 with special guests. In 2023 she was the first drag queen ever to have a solo theatre show in Dutch theaters.

There is no telling what this brilliant queen will do next, all we know is that it’s going to be funny as hell!

July 2026: WorldPride Month at Plein Theater

Plein Theater celebrates queerness with a bold and motley programme full of theatre, film, drag, and performance that challenges, questions, and defies the norm!

Throughout the year, but especially during the month of July, Plein Theater gives unfiltered visibility to film and emerging artists engaging with queer themes. This year in the spirit of the extraordinary WorldPride Amsterdam, which theme UNITY stands for solidarity, connection, and a shared struggle for equality.

An important part of the programme originates from an open call as part of our co-creation programme, where shared ownership and participation are key. Ten emerging and talented artists present work that engages with queer perspectives, identity, the body, freedom, and the many ways in which we can celebrate ourselves and each other.

We believe that a theater is not only a stage, but also a meeting center where artists, local residents, communities, and audiences collectively shape what is presented. Our co-creation programme can be recognised by the #GetInvolved label.

From 15th to 19th of July we screen ten queer films by the feminist film collective Cinemien! For decades, Cinemien has been a pioneer in showcasing powerful women’s stories, LGBTQIA+ perspectives, and groundbreaking documentaries.

We also Bring Drag Back to the Theatre with a special WorldPride edition featuring the irresistible drag queen Sederginne. And last but not least, together with queer.red and Lesbique, we explore the boundaries of queer erotique during Darkroom on Stage!
